The Phantom Project in Paso Robles

PhantomLogo2This is a different kind of show…really.

From what I hear, the first Phantom Project was so successful that a second Phantom Project is being held in the A&R Furniture building through June 2, 2012 and they have a whopping 10,000 square feet of space!  The show will run concurrent with the Wine Festival and the Festival of the Arts and is expected to have a huge draw of both local residents as well as out of area folks.

This will be an excellent opportunity for the public to view how a juried art exhibit is put together as well as to see if the public choice of three winners is the same as the jurors.  The net effect will be an exhibition not only of the art, but also of the jury process, illustrating the variability, complexity, and subjectivity of that process. It will be three concurrent versions of the same show: two juried versions and the overall show, all displayed together.

A closing reception, and announcement of the “Peoples Choice” will be held on Saturday, June 2 from 6-9pm.  You are invited to come down and make your vote be known.

The Phantom Project will be held at the A&R Furniture building on the corner of 12th and Pine Street, facing the City Park. Viewing hours are Friday, Saturday – 12-9pm and Sunday - 12-6pm.  For more information, click here.

California Restaurant Month in Paso Robles: Thomas Hill Organics

THOby Tina Swithin

At the Paso Robles Insider, we are excited to be spotlighting the fabulous Paso Robles' restaurants which are participating in Restaurant Month

In a recent article by Paul Hodgins of the OC Register titled, "Central Coast Wine Industry Spurs Gourmet Food Movement", Thomas Hill Organics was featured for their efforts and reputation in supporting this movement.  As journalist Paul Hodgins eloquently stated, "wherever wine flourishes, great cuisine follows".  I must agree.  Paso Robles is the place to be for great wine and food.

Restaurant Month provides locals and visitors the opportunity to try new restaurants and experiment with new dishes.  You are provided a special menu and you receive will receive three courses for only $30.   What a deal that is!

I spoke to Debbie Thomas, owner of Thomas Hill Organics who summed it up, "Restaurant month gives our customers a chance to enjoy a very affordable but enjoyable evening out.  We have chosen to THO Ribsshowcase our Beef Shortrib Daube.  Daube is a dish made with beef, red wine and vegetables all slowly braised for several hours in our wood burning oven.  Very tender, very flavorful and it has been quite a hit this past week!"

Head down to Thomas Hill Organics Market Bistro & Wine Bar tonight and enjoy one of Paso Robles finest restaurants.
